Canyon Ridge Elements

Canyon Ridge Elements breaks from the classic old-world carriage house with a more modern look. Clean lines with squared off edges define its contemporary shaker style. Elements is a popular choice for a variety of home aesthetics, from modern to traditional, seamlessly blending the best of both worlds.

Elements is constructed of two layers of steel topped with a composite insulated with 1-3/8" thick bonded polystyrene with an R-Value of 6.5.

Elements can be customized with warm factory finishes, unique design patterns, and a selection of window styles. Finishes are available in Standard White, Almond, Sandstone, Desert Tan, Bronze, Charcoal or Black. Add an optional trendy two-tone finish or create a unique custom color with ColorBlast®.

Key Differences between Canyon Ridge Elements and Carriage House 4-Layer

Canyon Ridge Carriage House

Discovering what sets the Canyon Ridge Elements and Carriage House 4-Layer apart will help you find the perfect match for your home. Let's dive in!

Style

Elements features textured overlays and clean square edges for a contemporary look. The steel base has an embossed wood texture, which matches the texture on the overlay. The edges are square in lieu of the traditional beveled edge that you find on a more traditional carriage house door.

Elements is unique in that it is not designed with polyurethane, instead it’s made with polystyrene. The door is paint-grade only and there are no stain options available. Color and style options may be more limited compared to other models in the line, but your door maintains the same elegant style, unrivaled craftsmanship, and quality of any Canyon Ridge door.

The Carriage House 4-Layer has a faux wood-look composite overlay with a coped edge. Overlays are molded from Clear Cypress. Steel surfaces have a woodgrain texture. The available Ultra-Grain® woodgrain pattern runs one way, rather than in two directions, giving your door a more architecturally accurate look. The Carriage House 4-Layer gives you more customization options with a larger selection of coordinating accessories.

Both designs include standard beveled edge, clip-in window grilles, and attractive black spade lift handles and step plates. Specialty glass options are available.

Performance

Despite differences in insulation and construction, the shared trait between Elements and Canyon Ridge is their reliable performance. 10-ball nylon rollers ensure quiet operation and heavy-duty 14-gauge steel hinges support long-lasting performance. Clopay’s patented Safe-T-Bracket® reinforces your bottom bracket for added protection. In hurricane-prone or high-wind areas, WindCode® door reinforcement is available. Clopay also offers a wide variety of residential garage door track options to match different layouts.

Cost

The Canyon Ridge collection blends practicality with impressive designs. Prices range depending on style and materials.

Canyon Ridge Elements is an affordable, entry-level Canyon Ridge door. True to its name, this model has a lot of similar style features and options to the Carriage House door. But, its choice of materials and construction allows for more wiggle room in your budget.

The Carriage House 4-layer is a bit more expensive than Elements, but it’s still in the middle price range for the collection. The design is the same as the five-layer model, except that it doesn't include the composite overlay.
